Introduction to Clinical Counseling

This course is an introduction into the field of clinical counseling. Students enter graduate-level counselor-education programs from a variety of educational and experiential backgrounds. A graduate with a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling can be employed in a multitude of settings. The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to some of the knowledge and skills a counselor needs to know, to some of the areas in which the counselor can apply these skills, and to some of the theories and ethical issues important to the professional counselor.
